Description
This intermediate-level three-hour workshop is open to all who are interested in exploring the mid-life transition and the cycles and transits that define it. We will introduce a conceptual framework for looking at the Mid-Life process through the lens of the overall Life Story. We will focus on the entry to Mid-Life through the themes of the Uranus Opposition and Nodal Shift, and the Kiron Return as a close to the period. Although these two major cycle transits occur in the early 40s and 50s, we often experience shifts and integration for years to follow.
The mid-life transition is a process that we all go through when we enter our 40s and into the second half of life. It is sometimes referred to in popular culture as the “mid-life crisis.” We find the word “Crisis” in the Human Design BodyGraph through Gate 36, Darkening of the Light, which reminds us that crisis is the result of inexperience and encountering the unknown. Potential growth and maturation of the Incarnation Cross await us on the other side when we have the courage to turn our awareness toward the themes that influence us during this time. We may also find that we see echoes of our past wounds and future callings throughout this time.
The nodal shift that comes with the Uranus Opposition (Ages 42-44) requires us to enter the unknown in part through our movement from the South Node to the North Node theme in terms of our view and environment. This can also mean a change in the primary players and circumstances in our lives that enables us to see life through a different lens.
The Kiron Return (Ages 49-50) comes in to complete this process bringing up themes of healing and deeper integration as one moves into the flowering period of life. There can be a sense of coming back into oneself synthesizing the past, present, and future along with further balancing the nodal extremes.
This can be experienced as a time to individuate, find our way, and step fully into adulthood aligned with our unique trajectory in life. It can also bring a deeper sense of integration of the particular polarities of our imprint and free us from false outer authorities.
Workshop Format
In this workshop, we will explore the mid-life process by looking at the Uranus Opposition, Chiron Return, and Nodal shifts themes. It will also be an opportunity to come together, learn from each other, and recognize the themes that color this time through real-world examples.
We will cover:
- What do we mean by “mid-life”?
- The Life Story and maturation of the Cross through major cycles
- The Uranus Opposition
- The Kiron Return
- The shifting Lunar Nodes of the birth chart
- Mid-life experience by Type
- Astrological perspectives on the Nodes
- Q&A in the context of participant chart examples
Facilitated by Amy Lee, a 5/1 Mental Projector on the Cross of the Clarion, and John Cole, a 2/4 Ego Projector on the Cross of the Unexpected. Amy and John have been experimenting with Human Design for over 14 and 8 years respectively and have been fascinated by the patterns they’ve seen through studying the Major Transit Cycles.
The workshop will be held online using Zoom on September 24th, 2023. We will provide recordings and slides of the workshop to all participants for their personal use.
Notes
This is an intermediate workshop for those with a solid understanding of their design and a foundational understanding of Human Design. The aim of the workshop is to share our view of the elements and themes of the mid-life in a way that each participant can explore the unique timing, cycles, and characteristics in their personal life story. The workshop is not a substitute for professional training nor a cycle reading given by a certified analyst. Depending on the number of participants and the available time, we will probably not be able to analyze and speak to every individual’s chart or life story.
Recommended
The Human Design Foundation Reading is a great way to start your journey and exploration with Human Design. It can be very helpful to have a Foundation Reading and a solid understanding of your design prior to taking this workshop, although it is not required. Please message Amy and John for more information if needed.
